“Trust” Brings Deliverance"

September 6, 2007

“Trust me in your times of trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

-        Psalm 50:15

Why don’t we trust God? The answer is fear. Why doesn’t God deliver? Because fear blocks our faith. Fear = distrust, which leaves us depressed. Gamble on God’s help and wait for His deliverance.

Do this and watch the power and favor of God work in you life.

Confusion is the Fruit of “Envy” and “Self-Seeking”
September 5, 2007

“For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.”
 James 3:16

Clearly, confusion is a product of envy and/or self-seeking. Why is it a product of envy? People are envious of others prosperity, possessions, positions, partners, etc; the list goes on-and-on. The envious heart isn’t submitted to God; it resists Him and it idolizes people and their possessions. Why is it a product of self-seeking? Self-seeking people ignore God and people in an attempt to bring pleasure to themselves. Pride and ambition go hand-in-hand with self-seeking. God is not the author of confusion; Satan is. He is envious of God and wants His glory, and he is totally self-seeking (selfish, self-centered, self-regarding, egotistic, egocentric, self-absorbed, self-interested, narcissistic, and full of himself). We need to examine ourselves to see if there’s confusion anywhere in our lives (our marriages, our friendships, our inter-family relationships, etc). If we find any envious or self-seeking attitudes we need to repent immediately and then seek to restore peace. How? We can restore any situation from confusion by obeying the Word of God. Philippians 2:2 – 5 says:

“2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…”

Do this and watch confusion come crashing down in you life.
